SchoolTouch^TM

Manage multiple school and business closings w/o human intervention. Organizations manage their own status via automated phone attendant, and updates are automatically posted to air. Utilizes the latest C++ technology.

Description

SchoolTouch^TM is the highest quality closings system on the market today and is very affordably priced. The SchoolTouch System provides TV stations with an advanced, yet user-friendly interface to the difficult task of handling large numbers of school and business closings.

The system allows TV stations to register organizations in advance so organizations can manage their own closing status via touch tone phone. Each organization is issued a security code to prevent unauthorized persons from providing false information. Updated information is inserted into the air list then sent to the character generator for air.

The new Remote Interface feature allows users to start, stop, and pause the system and may be used for general purpose applications such as triggering a DVE move or controlling a keyer.

Auto Attendant

• A 4 line auto attendant is standard with the system.
• All conditions and voice prompts may be customized.
• Up to 100 conditions.
• Auto Attendant allows school administrators to call in and update status.
• Voice prompts can be customized with your station's announcer and may include promotional information.
• Phone attendant has type-ahead feature allowing fast access and rapid turnover of phone lines.
• The phone attendant requires only one key press to mark a school as closed or delayed (after the PIN and password have been entered).

System

• The system can run fully automated, updating and airing schools as they are closed or delayed.
• Drop down menus allow School & Business Conditions to be entered without any typing.
• All drop down lists may be customized to meet station requirements.
• Find a School name easily by typing the first few letters.
• The database can be printed within SchoolTouch.
• The database can be viewed and updated from newsroom computers.
• The database can be filtered by ADI and type (School, Business, Day Care, etc.).
• The database can be sorted by School name, County name, or Condition.
• Additional CG's may be added for cable access channel or multi-casting.
• Additional phone attendants may be added and assigned for Business, Day Care, etc.
• A time can be set to automatically clear closed conditions and prepare for a new day.
• SchoolTouch can be set to automatically run to air when a selected number of schools have closed.
• The air list display can be paused for a commercial break and resumed from the point where paused.

CG

• SchoolTouch will interface to the following Chyron CG's: pc-Codi, Codi, Maxine!, MAX!, and iNFiNiT!, and Pinnacle Deko CG's and now the Chyron Digital pcCodi.
• All CG interfaces ship with the system. Easily hot switch among CG's.
• The iNFiNiT! family of CG's may have any number of Schools and Conditions displayed.
• SchoolTouch will load Codi logos and sponsorships.
• Drap & drop setup for Codi's.
• SchoolTouch can run to air as either a Crawl or a Sequence Display.
• Crawls can be set with Intro and Tag Text.
• Three pre-set displays available for sequence display.

Remote I/F (Option)

• The CG may be controlled through a contact closure to Start, Pause, and Stop.
• A tally input is provided to automatically pause and resume the CG for commercial breaks.
• Contact closures are provided to control a keyer or DVE for Start, Pause, and Stop.
